Queensland’s total COVID death toll has surpassed 100 as authorities confirmed 10 more lives had been lost to the virus, with 11,947 new infections, Health Minister Yvette D’Ath says.
Across the state, 863 people were in hospital with COVID as of Saturday night, with 47 in intensive care. Fourteen of those were on ventilators.
Chief Health Officer John Gerrard said that of the 10 new deaths, one person was in their 30s, one was in their 60s, seven were in their 80s and one was in their 90s.
Three of the people, including the two youngest, were unvaccinated. Seven had received two doses of a vaccine and none had received a booster shot.
