NSW recorded 644 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday. There were four COVID-19 fatalities in the reporting period.
The NSW Premier has announced the Greater Sydney lockdown will be extended until the end of September – however it will not apply Shellharbour and the Central Coast, which will be classified as regional areas.
The NSW Government has announced a curfew will be put in place in the parts of Sydney most affected by COVID-19. The curfew comes into force on Monday and will apply between 9am and 5pm.
From midnight Monday, August 23 it will be mandatory to wear face masks while outside in NSW, unless you’re exercising.
