Most people told us it would be weeks, not months, before the Taliban managed to take the whole country. It turned out to be days.
We filmed a series of interviews before the brutal regime swept into Kabul and reclaimed power. In the interview above, an Afghan military commander shares his experiences of fighting the Taliban and calls on the West not to legitimise them.
“All I want from the Western people is to put pressure on your government not to make terrorists legitimate. Terrorists are terrorists, no matter where they are,” he told us.
